From our 2022 Nest Guest Book...

Dear Jim and Michelle,

For the past decade we have enjoyed the marvelous Trailside Cottage. We were heartbroken when we heard it would no longer be rented to the public; it was the place we daydreamed about through long winters. The promise of Trailside vacations carried us through hard times in our lives and in the world. We are truly blessed you have created this amazing "nest". We never imagined we could love any place as much as Trailside...but we do!!! We know what this home looked like before you started...and it is miraculous how you transformed it into the sweetest, coziest little nest! The layout, décor and overall charm just sparkle! We love many of the familiar items from the Trailside Cottage as well as the nest-themed additions. Like the cottage the Nest allows us to barely touch our car; biking or walking along the trail, bird watching, stargazing, enjoying an evening fire and the serene silence of the country. Your excellent internet allowed us to arrive early since I could work from my laptop. Over the course of the last 10 days we biked a little over 200 miles, saw blue birds, indigo bunting, eagle, raven, fox, porcupine, ring-necked snakes, slumbering rattlesnakes, swallows, a bat, newt, orioles', baby geese, deer and enjoyed the music of spring peepers. We are your customers for life! We were honored and thrilled to be the first Nest guests!

Thank you Michelle and Jim for creating the perfect respite for 2 city dwellers! Seems you two thought of everything in creating this cozy retreat. We had great sunny weather and spent as much time as possible outside. Rode 20 miles each day on the trail - such a beautiful trail with so little traffic!

The rest of the time we sat on the wonderful porch and looked at mountains and birds. We saw blue birds, kingfishers, cedar waxwings, rose breasted grosbeak, catbirds, robins. The best was seeing a momma and baby porcupine on the road! We saw an eagle on the trail. We schmoozed the goods at Pag-o-mar at the end of the trail but otherwise never left the cabin or trail. We cooked on the grill every night and ate outside at the nice picnic table.

As city condo dwellers we made the best possible use of the great outdoors. That meant we didn't get to make use of the cozy comfortable looking living room. Will need to come back in the Fall for that.

Also enjoyed 2 nights of the fabulous starry night sky! Big dipper was right above the cabin.

Enjoyed talking to Jim and Michelle and their grandchildren. It was all grand!
